The Mines of Moria Virtual Challenge follows The Fellowship as they brave the Dwarven city, now overrun by Orcs and even darker things. Trying to protect The Fellowship, Gandalf falls to his apparent death, locked in combat with a Balrog demon.
Michael and I braved the darkness of Mines of Moria for a short 64 kilometre (40 mile) challenge as we continued our journey towards Mordor.
So often in life you are heading into a fight when you realize that the other size has an advantage. Of course they do. Today, as at all such moments, the only appropriate response is Boromir’s. Sigh, declare “They have a cave troll,” and get on with the grim business at hand.
